Cold and clear it may have been but that did not prevent the band from getting into action to welcome in 2002. As usual the crowd was back in Gieltys for the moment when 2001 passed into 2002 by the countdown on Alan Gieltys big drum. The first tune was played with gusto and trembling fingers followed by what is becoming an increasingly sophisticated fireworks show. It may not match Sydney 2002 but the crowd did enjoy it. There are also some photos from the pub earlier on that might give a taste of how the locals and some blow-ins celebrate the passing of 2001 and welcome 2002.
